 Born in Hong Kong, Flutist Alecx Cheuk-Fai Chung is an active soloist and performer, where he performed with noted flutists and musicians home and abroad. He founded the Hong Kong International Flute Association (HKIFA) in 2017. The association has already held a series of concerts, masterclasses and events reaching thousands of audiences in Hong Kong including duo recitals with Italian Flutist Caterina Stocchi and Korean American Flutist Christine Han, performing as guest artist at Rossini’s 150th Anniversary Concert and an opera concert with Italian soprano Agnese Pazienti and pianist Inessa Filistovich organized by the Italian Consulate of Hong Kong. Alecx has also been the artistic director of the Hong Kong International Flute Festival since 2018, a platform for lectures, masterclasses and flute concerts for flutists from Hong Kong and overseas.

Alecx graduated with the highest honours with the Master in Flute Performance at the Venice Conservatory of Music in Italy where he studied with Professor Federica Lotti. He graduated with Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from the University of North Texas in the United States, studied with Dr. Mary Karen Clardy and Dr. Elizabeth McNutt. During his time in the United States, he was invited as a guest soloist to perform for the International Chamber Music Series organized by the Lewisville Lake Symphony. He was the winner of the Venice Conservatory concerto competition to perform the Mozart G major Flute Concerto. He was also invited by the Savinese Music Festival in Italy as one of the guest artists. Alecx has collaborated with the Venice Biennale and performed in major venues such as La Fenice theatre, Goldoni theatre, Palazzo Grassi and Palazzo Ducale. He has also performed at College of music in Zhengzhou University, Henan University, Zhaoqing Univeristy and Suzhou University and Macau Band Festival.
