Daniel fuses Western Classical training with sounds from ethnic traditions and technology. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Daniel plays in the US with ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, violinist Karen Briggs (Yanni), Saxophonists Jeff Coffin (Grammy winner with Bela Fleck and The Flecktones & The Dave Matthews Band), and resides in the DFW area where he freelances as a musician, recording engineer, and producer for projects locally and abroad. From A Land Far Away has been featured at the Denton and Fort Worth jazz festivals, the EDCC concert series, and several universities around the country. For its artistic and humanitarian content with this group, Daniel won first prize at the Sherman Barsanti Inspiration Award Competition in 2016.
