PVAMU’s Music Program offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music with the following concentrations available to voice, instrumental, and piano majors: EC-12 Teacher Certification, intended for those seeking careers in music education, General, designed for those seeking a broad-based education in music, and Performance, for those interested in a career as a performing musicians.

Flute At Prairie View

Flute students at Prairie View A&M will engage in a classical curriculum based on the French methods of Altes, Taffanel & Gaubert, and Moyse. With that technical foundation and sound philosophy, we will then approach popular music, world music, and recording in order to develop an artistic voice and be a successful musician in performance & education. Flutists from Prairie View A&M University will be competent performers, educators, arrangers and overall, professional musicians.
